Take a look at this charity called iknit a river and think about helping out...I found out about it on knitty.com. It's a worthy cause. I'm starting tonight.

I got an itch. And there it is up there...

I'm working the Branching Out Scarf on knitty.com. What do you think?

I got the yarn from the previous librarian that used to work here. Although you can't see it, it's very, very orangey. Looks like fall leaves. It's getting so many compliments! I wish it came with the label. I'd get some more.

I don't know. I had the yarn and it looked like it wanted to be lace. Well, Maggi Rheghetti says yarn talks. Nothing fancy. A lot of the knits I've done are bulkier and I wanted to see something drape. I saw this pattern and the need to do it didn't seem to want go away any time soon. So I caved. May as well indulge it for a minute so I could get back to some of the other things I need to work on with a clear mind...I know. Stupid itch. But this little baby is helping it a bit...

I have had to tink back about TEN TIMES since I started! The most rows I've tinked back have been about four. Tink back a hundred yo's, 50 ssk's, and 25 sl,k1,psso's (you get the picture) and you'll know why that can get old really fast. It's a really, good starter lace though and on the whole, I do like the project. It's very satisfying (since it's a scarf and it's knitting up pretty quickly). Now it's less of an itch and more of a shadow. It's following me around in my purse, just begging to be knit on. Foot to foot. I get no respect around here.

You Are Storm
Exotic and powerful, Storm descended from a line of African priestesses.
Emotions can effect your powers, but you are generally serene.

Powers: controlling weather, creating winds that lift you into flight, generating lightning
Which of the X-Men Are You?

Okay. I am thirty years old and I love the X-Men movies! I took my son to see the last of the trilogy. It was my excuse to go there and act like I was his age-cough-eight-sniffle. My favorite character this time would have had to have been Jean. Who knew she had so much power? Not to say I like what she did. But she was the best kept secret ever! Class 5 Mutant!

Okay. Back to being thirty.

I've been working on my swatches. They're all knit. I've answered the questions and I wrote the blocking report. I need to block and recheck the gauge on the swatches for the table in question 1 and then label the swatches and that should be it. Maybe I'll get this done by the end of the weekend? Doubt it. My blocking skills are horrendous! I was only able to pin down three swatches because my eyes were too busy going cross-eyed on the gingham from my newly done blocking board. I dampened my swatches yesterday and today they still look just like they did yesterday. Maybe after I unpin them, they'll look blocked. As you can see, I've always skipped this step in the knitting process. I know, bad girl. I'll do better next time. Promise. But I think I'm going to have to break down and get the sew ez blocking board. That gingham is really messing with my eyes. But the sew ez board looks pretty good from the pics I saw of it on the web. Too bad I need it yesterday.

I knit my first cardigan sweater. It's for a baby and I found some really cute buttons at Stitches with Style. They're gingerbread men! They're just the cutest! I feel like they make the sweater!

I have to work on button bands though. I know now what I should've known when I picked up the stitches for it. I couldn't find the information at that time though and picking up 50 stitches over 70 rows was really boggling my mind! Still, next time it will be fine, I'm sure. One thing is for certain though, I have no fear of seams anymore!! Yay me! I think I will still like seamless raglans better. But to know I can do it if necessary is a good thing.

This sweater was a real pick-me-up. I moved out in April. But I told my husband I'd see a counselor with him. I don't know if that's a mistake or not. I don't really believe in divorce except in extreme cases and this is one of those cases. Knit a prayer for us. Only God can fix this one.
