Okay, so I'm plugging right along on the MK1 samples these days. I can't say that I'm terribly happy with all my swatches and I know I'll be doing a few of them over again. I have the last swatch to knit and then I could quit the knitting part. But I really want them to be at least the best I can make them. I figure I'll redo a few of them and then it's probably time to get to the questions. Still, I thought I would share my cable samples anyway. If anyone has any tips let me know. My cables aren't as crisp as some other knitters cables I'm sure. And I swear that one of them is lop-sided??? Then, the one I made up has this ugly dip in the center middle. Yeah, I know I'll be doing a couple of these over again...
Happy Knitting!

Well, I was going to finish.
I got stuck on my swatches for Level One this weekend. I was planning on having that part of the instructions finished and working on the questions this week. But it turns out I got stuck on a yarn over swatch???? Who gets stuck on a yarn over swatch??? Anyway, the instructions say something about not closing it on the purl row. I had no clue why anyone would close it or what the comment meant. So I asked on the Message Board and I got a great response from KT. I didn't know you could turn a yo into a m1 that way. Something new everyday.
Hopefully, I will have my swatching done by this weekend and I can focus my attention to the questions.

I started knitting again on the MK Level 1 pieces again. I had a long hiatus. Christmas gifts, and other things.
I am really excited about starting again. I had stopped just as I was getting to Swatch # 8 ssk decreases. I think my decreases tend to get stretched. But I’m going to try real hard to keep it together. I have a doc appointment today and I’m going to knit a bit in the office there. So hard to find time when you’re working through the day.
I haven’t bought any new knitting books lately and I’m so proud of myself. I mean, how many how-to books does a gal need anyway? But I’ve been eyeing the write-ups on the new book coming out about one skein projects…The only thing is, I already have patterns for a lot of those projects. They’re probably already one skein. I just get sucked in with all the juicy pics. Got to work on keeping money in my pocket!
Thinking of giving up my rings. So glad they were successful. But I just can’t keep up what with the job and the family and all. It’s just too much for me at the moment. And there are other things I’d like to give my time to right now. My daughter is already nearing eight months and I’m feeling like I missed so much of it at work. I need to kick back and have no other obligations for a bit but them. Hope everyone understands.
I knit myself a scarf. Comfort knitting. I always knit the same scarf though! K4, P4. What’s up with that? Creature of habit I guess.
Anyway, back to the MKL1 swatches. Hopefully, I'll have enough steam to get through the rest of the swatches within the next two months. One row down...
Happy knitting!
