We had a graduation at my job yesterday. So, I have officially gotten through a whole fiscal year of classes!! I guess that means I graduated too. The ceremony went so quickly, if you blinked, you would've missed it. But it was nice. There was a bag piper and the students went up the middle of the street to the Grand Opera House. So many people stopped to ask me, what are they doing? What school are they from? And I thought, "Wow. All those years I was a telemarketer here have really paid off."
Anyway, it's a wrap and so is this
That was then
this is now
and again.
a garter stitch wrap to be exact. I finished it this past weekend. Still haven't finished the jacket yet though?? I may have to start that over. Now I don't like that white for the hood and the sleeves...Go figure. Still wondering whether if this wrap is big enough for a new born though. It's so tiny. But it is according to the directions. Course, if it doesn't fit my baby, I can give it to the hospital for a preemie born at or around the same time or same day. Or maybe I'll put it in a basket and gift it to someone else. We'll see...
I'm also near finished with the lunch bag from knit one, felt too. I have to do the fasteners and the last strap and I'm cool. I would have taken a pic of the two-tone strap as is, but the dang thing won't keep still....and as I look down, I'm thinking that may be like many other aspects of my life. Yawn...

Hope you all had a happy mother's day. Got my diabetes test results back. Looks like I'm even sweeter than even they thought! I scored just at the mark for normal ranges with a 139. I know...What a sweetheart I am!! :)
I'm still working on that garter stitch wrap and trying to figure out what else to do with all this yellow yarn...I also knitted the bag section for the lunch bag in Knit One, Felt Too. It's HUGE!! And the materials section actually lied. I ran out of the yarn requirements before even getting to the top!! Or maybe it's just me???
Well, happy knitting.

These days I'm just really pregnantly tired. I can't seem to get to sleep at a good hour? So I read until I fall asleep and then get up early enough to do it all over again. My eyes pay for the reading the night before. Poor DH is going through the same, although it's not that whole pregnancy-sympathy thing. In his case, his job is the culprit. Barely saw him during this week because he has to stay late for the first couple days every month. Still, we did have another great weekend, including mango water ice. If you haven't had mango water ice before, drop what you're doing and head over to the nearest water ice stand this minute. Seriously, the blog will be here when you get back. If they don't sell mango water ice, then I suggest you boycott and get your striking posters up in the air as soon as possible. How can you survive a whole summer without this stuff? How have you been getting along all this time???
Baby things seem to abound around the bedroom these days. While I was working on the garter-stitch wrap, I became interested in this boatneck sweater pattern from a Debbie Bliss book. Actually I wanted to do the dress, but my yarn wasn't the right yarn for the pattern guage so...But the boatneck sweater was still a challenge since I had to-gasp-seam!! I'm so seam-challenged, it isn't funny. Since the book is for Beginners, I thought to myself, "Hmmm. Maybe Debbie, queen of all baby things, would have some decent pics for seaming for little ole me. Not!!"
Turns out she really did. I think it actually worked out to my satisfaction this time. I'm officially a believer. While I would normally insert my "Ode to Debbie Bliss" here, I'll spare you the drama and just roll the pics instead.
One down, one to go...
...and after seaming down the sides, we're finished:
Now that I've seamed, I think I need a nap.
Happy knitting everyone....snore...
